Another Sport Finished

S # 12

S finished 7th grade volleyball last night. I was amazed how much their team learned in a short amount of time. S, herself learned to overhand serve and as I watched her last night I could see her constantly moving into position based on what she anticipated was coming next. Whether it be to bump, set, spike or block she was ready. This was huge difference from where they started. Almost all of the plays last night were three hits and over, and they salvaged quite a few miss hits and were able to keep the ball in play.
Tonight after school she hands in her jersey, enjoys a pizza party and walks over to another school afterwards to try out for a traveling basketball team. I'm not sure how many girls they are accepting onto the team, or what her chances are of making the team, but she will give it her all and do her best. She has indicated that she likes volleyball a lot more than basketball so if she doesn't make that team she might want to join a volleyball team that plays through the winter. She thrives off of team sports and we enjoy watching her play.
Tonight is N's tennis banquet where she will recieve her letter for tennis. She was disappointed last year when she didn't get one, so I am sure she will be quite happy tonight. She and her partner played well over half of the varsity games so she is guaranteed a letter.
Jack and my anniversary is today. We've been married 19 years! We plan on celebrating by eating pizza and fried chicken at N's tennis banquet. Good times!

Happy Anniversary to you both!

Congratulations on 19 years. That is a wonderful accomplishment, as are your beautiful daughters and how wonderfully they are doing in school... You do have much to be thankful for (notice I just passed right over that OTHER word you were struggling with earlier today... HEE!)
