Watching the Olympics has taken me down memory lane. Yes, yes, I watched the gymnastics as a kid and thought Olga and Nadia were true visionaries. I mean, heck I NEVER would have been able to do the splits without the inspiration Nadia inspired in me.
But, that is NOT what I am talking about. I'm talking about how my twisted brain works. We've all seen the great and wonderful Michael Phelps, but what about Lezak? Lezak makes me think of the Sleestaks..which makes me laugh, but no one laughs with me. I texted my brother about it and he gave me an roflmao back, but I think he was just being kind.

So here's a link to a YouTube compilation of The Land of the Lost which featured the Sleestaks who have completely scared S. But at least now my kids understand why I am amazed by current special effects.
Horse news:
We were off to a show last night and both girls did pretty well. N improved her barrel time a full second and her pole run a good three seconds in this arena. S struggled with her barrels losing her steering around the first barrel as she tried to use her quirt (whip) to urge her out of the barrel. Each show is a learning experience.

I loved Land of the Lost!!! Still remember the song:-) Those Sleestaks still creep me out....memory lane is right:-)
I remember the Sleestaks. I have referenced them to the kids. I wish I could find reruns for them, I loved that show!
I just found your blog and love it! I also have to say that I LOVE your Sleestak reference! I used to LOVE Land of the Lost (periodically I launch into a Chaka impression saying, "WEEra! HAHree!"). I'm glad I found your blog for many reasons - artistic, reminiscent, horse loving and others. :) Thanks.
