Thursday's Pictures

The ducks at High Pines Farms are now parents! They are have 15 of the most adorable little ducklings to care for. The one in the middle is all "I'm the cutest!"
Here's a shot of S and Gunner after their workout today. N is off on her trip so I had S ride Gunner in the round pen. S says "Did N lope him yet?" I said yes, the next thing you know she's loping on him. He threw her a little attitude (mini-buck) so she went back down to the trot. Goof, she does half a round at a trot and immediately asks for the lope. Warming up is good I remind her.

Finally here's a shot of Gunner when I was lounging him in the round pen.

sometimes we forget how useful a good warm up is.

Hi Kathy, I have read back over a lot of the posts I have missed since my last visit.

Glad to hear that Gunner is doing so well, we lost a horse to EPM so it nice to hear a success story.

I am sorry about Nikki, I know how much they weedle their way into your heart and it is hard to say goodbye but it sounds like she had a great life and made many people happy.

Good luck with the cattle/steers. I would love to see a picture of the triplets.

Hope you are all well (((Hugs))))

Gunner looks like he is doing great. Are those Muskovi (spelling???) ducks?

I still think Gunner is such a handsome boy and the baby ducks are the cutest, all soft and fuzzy.

Sounds like Gunner is coming along. You never know but I might take a horse that bucks at the lope back down to the trot and then back up again. I like to mix things up and do my corrections different ways. Transitions are much harder than the actual gaits so the horses would much rather NOT have to do many of them. I use them alot.
