Catch Up

We are busy most days working with our beef animals getting them ready for fair. I always seem to forget my camera, so I have not shots to share. All three kids N, S and their cousin H are coming along fine with their steers. Today we had the hoof trimmer out to trim 9 of our cows and the three steers. We also tied up the triplets, two steers for next year and a bull calf we will sell at test station next year. He's also the bull calf going to fair this year.

Jack and I tied the triplets and the bull calf up last week Thursday and how I wish I had my camera. There were calves flying in the air with Jack hanging on for dear life. At this age the calves will either jump VERY high or fall over on the ground. Once they have fallen over, they think they are dead, or dying and will just lay their limply. We had two of the triplets tied together and they spent the better half of an hour playing tug of war with each other.

Today's tying went better, and hopefully they will come around in the next two weeks. If not, then they will stay home from the fair.

N returned from her trip out east. She had the time of her life and her only disappointment was that the trip ended.

S has completed one Basketball camp, and will attend a Volleyball camp in August.

The girls and I spent the weekend with my side of the family at the family farm and cabin. We had a nice time catching up with my mom, dad and a couple of my brothers and their families.

The 4H club is due her in a little over an hour, so I'd best get prepared!

I'll try to catch up with all of you soon!!

that sounds like an interesting picture watching those critters learn how to be tied. I'd never thought about teaching them than or that they would need to have their feet trimmed for that matter, but it makes sense. It's so easy to get stuck in our own little world and not see the other things around us.
