must come out.
Yesterday was barn cleaning and horse pen cleaning day. I begged the man for use of the skid steer, tractor and manure spreader. I spent almost the entire day loading the manure spreader with horse and cow manure. What couldn't be reached by the skid steer I hand pitched into the bucket. The barn is all sparkly and clean now, or at least clean.
It's steer working time at our house. My nephew H, N and S are each taking steers to the fair. In addition N will take the cow and triplets and a heifer. S is taking a cow and bull calf and a heifer. We will likely fill up a large are of the show barn with our exhibit.
Most mornings we are out washing animals (steers) by 7 am and not back in the house until dark. Thus the lack of posts.
The girls are gone to 4H camp and will return tonight, so steer washing, and horse exercising becomes my job. Today after washing the steers I pitched straw into the barn so they would have something to lay in. As I am pitching Buddy (S's steer) comes to help and then lays down right in front of me. Silly steer. He's a big kitten at heart but must weigh at least 1200 lbs at this point.
N leaves tomorrow for a nine day trip out east. I am a bit envious. She will tour Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Niagra. Lucky brat gets to see a broadway play, tour Ellis Island, see the statue of liberty and go whale watching on the Atlantic. It will be the trip of a lifetime, or close to it!

We took twins and a heifer on to the fair one year. The heifer was really spirited and everyone was terrified of her, (it was quite a feat getting her washed!) but they won grand champions!
Wow, you sound busy. I still have half a lean-to to shovel out.
