We just finished with Spring Break. We had a nice week of riding, visiting my parents and the cumulation of spending Easter with Jack's parents. Perhaps the true cumulation came last night when S got sick eh? Both girls are home for another day sick. Poor dears.
Classy is progressing nicely. Well, she's not so happy right now, lots of tail switching, the foal must be in a bad spot. I'm keeping a close eye on her though. We got her pen all set up nicely and she has settled into staying in at night. She's not one who enjoys being in a stall, so having the larger panels set up so she can move around more has really helped.
Our riding took a few unexpected twists last week.
Dixie decided perhaps she didn't need to slow down. Ever. We got some great advice from Tammy and the trainer at the barn, and by Saturday S had much better control and was riding better than I had ever seen her ride. So much of her education with horses has been "get on and ride." So, spending the extra money for lessons has been not only necessary but certainly worth it.
Gunner was a bit bucky at the start of the week, but by Saturday he too had settled in and figured out what he was at the barn for. Work. N is really starting to bond with him, and loves him to pieces. This week, when the girls are better, the workouts will increase in intensity.
Beyond that, we got a load of snow dumped on us on Friday. This was also "the" day to get N's temps for driving. So, off we went to get them. I figured the winter driving would be good for her. She is doing okay. They have no behind the wheel in the class that was offered to her until she has her temps. When I took classes the behind the wheel coincided with the book, plus we had those fun simulators! So, her driving experience truly began on Friday. With it came the experience of filling the car up with gas, going through the drive through for lunch, having to wait to eat and having her sister freak out in the back seat. I didn't use my imaginary passenger side brake but once or twice, and only caught myself clinging to the door handle once!!

You are a brave woman! Izzy will be 16 in June, but here in Turkey, no driving until you are 18, even with a US driver's license. She'll have to wait until university.
Oh, I can remember teaching kids how to drive. I was a wreck. I'm so glad I don't have to do that again. lol
I wish you luck and lots of patience.
You are a brave woman. I know I'm going to wear out a hole in the carpet with my imaginary brake when it's my daughter's turn.
You are brave! And I am so ready for that little foal. I know you guys have to be chewing your nails waiting.
LOL, on the driving experience! My 19 yr old has had no desire to learn to drive, even now at University. Why should she, she has chauffers!
