Zip Lining

Back in August while we were in Juno, Alaska S and I went zip lining. Originally N had wanted to go, but she chose instead at this port to go glacier hiking with her dad.

As I was moving files from one computer to another and transferring images to CD's I found this picture of S and our guide for the day. I believe his name was Andy and he was a college student on summer break from Washington state. He was incredibly kind not only to this middle-aged woman but also to the middle-aged man that was zip lining with his teenage kids. The poor man shook the entire time from fear and Andy and our other guide set our fears to rest.

If you ever get the chance to zip line I highly recommend it. It is such an adrenalin rush.

I'd be too chicken but she looks so happy in that shot.

Thanks for the gloves tip. Honestly Martin gets so tired of caring for the horses in the winter that I hear the "why do we have these expensive pets? We don't even ride anymore." And I have to go into "But they are part of our family, it is why we live way out here in the first place, remember?"
Anyway anything to help me take on most of the work that I can do is great.

As for the sheathing...poor Freck has just been left alone for the past couple of years and it is yucky. That is why I didn't want it to fall on me. He is so old now that Martin thinks it bothers him too much but I think he'd feel better clean. The vets have been mixed about it so it has been left alone.
Now Spirit, my baby, when he actually starts needing it cleaned I will be the one to have to do it. That will be a post. When we were in school she showed me the proper way but said he was still so young he didn't have any build up yet and was very clean.

I am hoping it is like any other "mom" duty I've taken on with him and the Labs...like following them around to check for worms after they eat the deer carcass. I hope it won't be that bad...
