Thank goodness! After the fog and rain of the last, oh I don't know, gajillion days, the sun is here.
Today at morning feed time I took stats on the horses. Everyone was weight taped. I really should have done it back in October or November, but now I know where they are at. They are so shaggy that a horse owner can be surprised in the spring when the horses start to shed out. Often times with older horses a thick coat of fur hides a lack of condition. I went through this once with Kelzon and it took me months to get his condition back.
All the horses were at about what I thought they should be. Dixie weighs just about what Catfish weighs, which is just sad. Catfish stands 16 hands high, and Dixie is about 14.2. This is the reason I seperated the two. He is a tall Appendix and very flat sided. She is a squat Quarter Horse type that looks like she swallowed a barrel. Catfish and Classy are penned together to get extra hay for their own reasons. Meanwhile Gunner and Dixie are penned together because they need less to maintain their weight.
I also took Classy's temp this morning and she was well within the normal range. She seemed fine this morning with her only discomfort coming from the ice.
Here's a picture of her from rear. I should be shot. Can you imagine being 6-1/2 months pregnant and having someone taking a shot of your from behind to "document" your condition? She has 2-1/2 months to go.
For all you Lloyd Lovers out there, here's a shot of him this morning. He loved the camera so I had to keep backing up. Maybe he just loves me! Yeah, that's it!

I got to get me a Lloyd! He is so cute!
She looks great! She has a nice rear end on her. Love the donkey! Thanks for stopping by today. I am starting to get back into the blogging thing after the holidays! Have a great day and God Bless!

Can't get enough of Lloyd---what a face! Just love him.
I love fat horses shot from behind. (I guess I'm grateful it's not me.)
And Lloyd -- oh how I covet my neighbor's ass here.....
The mare looks great and doesn't seem to be bothered by your position with the camera. You must be getting excited with only 10 weeks to go.
