For Crying Out Loud!

Patience is a virtue. Or so I've heard. I've been patient for once and it's finally paying off! I am not working at least twice a week subbing at one of three local rural schools. I do everything from teaching Kinders to answering phones. Recess duty to copying. The sweetness is in the form of the checks that I am depositing into the girls savings. It's time to replenish the money I've dipped into over the last few years to buy horses.

I'm exhausted tonight. Have you heard the new craze is to have your heating ducts cleaned? I had heard of it a few years back and thought it sounded like a great idea. So today I moved furniture away from every register and eagerly awaited the dudes with the brushes and vacuums. They came, the cleaned they installed a filter, they left. Whew - Can hardly wait to turn the heat on and have my babes waken without sneezes. Oh, and by the way, they stuck a camera down the duct to show me and sure enough it was filled with animal hair and lots and lots of dust. Totally Gross. Gag Me with a Spoon. Totally.

Must go to bed now, but N just informed me The Office is on and it's the Dundee's one...

Funny your post should be about this! I've been thinking of having my ducts cleaned, but know that the Cheapest Man in America (beloved husband) will balk.

Let us know how it works! Just seeing the befores and afters might be enough to make me convinced....

Wonder how to keep them clean? Other than changing the filters and all the normal stuff. Wonder if it will save on your utility bills?

I cleaned mine last year. You are right, it is pretty disgusting. Good reminder to check them and make sure they are semi-decent.
