The Results...

N got a Grand Champion (1st) in grades 9-13 for her photo of the barrel racer with the funky pads. She got a Reserve Champion (2nd) for the picture of Gunner's eye.

I've never seen her so nervous. She was quite overwhelmed and pleased with her results. We didn't get to see the judges comments so that was disappointing. We also wanted to see the picture that got Grand in non-motion, but nobody knew which one it was.

Thank you again for all your comments on the pictures. It helped alot both to help us learn how to use Photoshop and to really analyze what they wanted.

A big congratulations! We've been waiting to hear.

Did they get to ride, too? How did you like the expo facilities (for future shows.)

I'm so glad all her efforts were rewarded. Congrats again!

Anne the grounds were less than desirable. Not much warm up area and horses standing in line for an hour waiting for their class to begin = unhappy horses AND riders. We are seriously thinking of not competing next year at this event. Not a good mix for horses who need to be on muscle to perform well.

We didn't ride, it wasn't the type of event that my girls do. It was mainly pleasure classes.

Thanks for your kind post.

Katie, to be honest the competition was pretty sparce. There were a few very nice photos and a lot of not so nice photos. The eye picture really stood out, but I know it was knocked down by the softness around the pupil itself. =) We were still VERY pleased with the outcome!

Oh Yes, Congratulations! The pics were great. I'm glad that she did well with them.

Don't you hate it when you compete with something like that and then can't find the one they thought was better? It makes me crazy. I want to have a measure of what I need to work on or what the judges might be looking for and can't without being able to see the other.
