The winter storm continues on today, but we are fortunate to have little more than blowing wind and a bit of ice and snow. My thoughts go out to the families of the children lost in the school in Alabama. I can't even imagine. Here's some shots I took today of Mick. I don't often post pics of him or speak of him. He is 6 years old as of March 17th and has been by far the best dog we have ever had the pleasure to share our lives with. He came from a large litter and is of mixed parentage. His mom was a German Shepard cross and his dad a Chow. The teeenage girl laughed at us when we picked him out and made a comment about how he wouldn't be around anymore to chew things up. Her mom quickly hushed her. They called a week after we had him to let us know one of the other larger puppies had been returned, and if we would prefer it we could bring Mick back. As if.
S has begun 4H dog training with Mick this year. I taught him the basic commands of sit, heel, stay and down as a pup so it will be an easy project for her. All she has to do is teach him to stand for inspection and to come. She also will have to work her way through all the burs and mats that develop on him on a regular basis. Okay, so maybe it won't be THAT easy for her!

Mixed are great dogs
Kathy
Hope you are okay and surviving the dreadful weather. A friend of ours in Iowa said they had 16" last night. We have 3 brood mares there so I feel sorry for them, poor things.
Stay warm and safe.

I have had enough of the snow and freezing rain combo here! Had more than enough.
Thank you for your kind words and comments...plus prayers! I appreciate them. The pups are very good nurses. They have been taking excellent care of me!!!
Our old beloved Lilly had that thick coat full of burs and tangles too! Good luck to your daughter with that!
Mick looks like a sweetheart. I love German Sheppards and would really like to own one again. We had one for years growing up. He was our "body guard"!
