Music competition - canceled. Horse shopping - canceled. School today - canceled.

Estimates are that we got around 10 - 15" of snow since Friday night, and it's snowing again!

I did get a chance to complete some sewing projects I brought home from our last 4H meeting. One of the parents taught us to sew lined cloth bags. The sewing project kids learned how to make them in case they wanted to take them to fair and the rest were made to donate to a women's shelter. I also sewed a couple of horsey themed bags for myself.





This tan one is made from a shirt I have had for a few years. The collar was kind of wacky so I didn't wear it often. It's pretty heavy and is lined with heavy linen in a golden checked pattern. (click on the pic to get a better view)






The red white and blue bag is from N's old riding shirt that S just blew by on her latest growth streak. It's smaller than the tan bag and is lined with a white pillow case we weren't using. It's pretty delicate so I am not sure what I will use it for. I was tired at this point so the seams aren't as straight.


The snow we got over the weekend is heavy and quite awesome to work with. The family is on a mission to make the biggest snow man on the block (hopefully Kim will read this too late to participate...). The Man is going to bring some heavy equipment over so we can stack the balls!
