New Year...Fresh Start?

I always feel a sense of renewal with the beginning of the new year.

HORSES

With the passing of Kelzon, I have been thinking heavily about what our year will be like.

Gunner: I will begin the process of rehabilitating Gunner immediately. (started today) This will consist of TTouch techniques to repair the neuro pathway problems and ground work over hills and poles to strengthen his right rear leg that atrophied. After about 60 days of this he will enter training if I can get on the trainers schedule. If he is unable to take Gunner until later, I will continue working here with ground work and possibly riding. When he does enter training he will be there to clear up any holes that may have been missed in his original training, and continue with some advanced training.

Classy: We are committed to breed Classy this year to an Appaloosa stud. We are narrowing down the field of candidates. S will ride her throughout the spring and summer until she gets to a point where riding is unhealthy for her and the babe.

Catfish: N will be riding Catfish this summer. She is already learning a lot about him through her training in English with Jessica Cole. Her biggest challenge will be to teach him to be calm at events, and to learn how he works at a high rate of speed.

ART

My goals this year in the art field are to develop a portfolio of work. Once this is established I will start promoting my work either online or in the "real" world, or both!

Thanks for the compliment on the pic...I am just not sure...

But I like how small Ollie looks, because he is really horse.

I wish I lived closer. I would love to help you and your girls with your horses.

Good luck with Gunner, Classy and Catfish.

Was Kelzon sick...Colic? you dont have to answer, I am just curious. My thoughts are prayers are still with you, because I know what it is like to have a hole in the herd.

I have got to set time aside to work on my portfolio too. I had a nice start going then the holidays took over and now I feel as if I am behind on everything but like you I feel renewed each time the year rolls over!

How cool that you are going to breed and have a baby! I so wish we would breed Ruby. Martin is so picky about the color that he won't make a stud choice!

Happy New Year to you and your family and the horses! I'm betting this is going to be a great year for you guys!
