A Cry for Help...

Okay, I have to have SOMETHING submitted to the local artists show by 6 pm tonight. The piece I had been working on diligently fell apart yesterday. Then I literally ripped it apart to salvage ... anything.

I went through all my old pieces and came up with a plate of fruit water color I did probably two or three years ago. Here it is:

I also got angry (thus the red) and put together this piece: I call it Merry Effin Christmas. (note the horizontal grayness is not really there - scanner problem)

Which one do I submit...the nice fruit painting you could hang in your kitchen or the angry artist painting that makes you go...wtf?

You decide...I've given up. Put your vote in the comments. Keep in mind this is the first time I'm putting something "out there in the real world"

I happen to love Merry Effen Christmas, so if you want to sell it, I'm your buyer. I also think it would be popular and you don't have to tell people you were angry. It looks very seasonal, all red and green.

If you'd like lots of nice compliments about a cheery painting, I'd go with the fruit.

I happen to like the fruit - but the other one would make a great Christmas card. Just put in the lettering "Merry Effen Christmas" and it would be perfect. I would totally buy it.

Since this is your first time putting your art "out there" so to speak I would go with the fruit. For what it is worth Emma and Leah also think the fruit would be a better choice. What happened to the one you worked so hard on????

I am sorry I may be too late! I like the fruit. With your first time it is best to go more traditional....save the cutting edge when you have yourself out there a bit more 'cause when people rebuke it can hurt! I love both of them but for the local arts, first time, go fruit.

I hope you did great in case I am too late!

Sorry I missed out on the voting. :) I'd have gone for either one because they are both absolutely beautiful, but when you get my card you will understand completely why I totally would have selected Merry Effin. ;)

Love you sweetie!

This seems to be my year of being all for shock.
