Yesterday the wind blew, the sky was dark and bad weather was predicted all day. Schools about an hour and a half north of here were canceled! We got a few sprinkles, but that's about it. I guess five tornadoes touched down throughout Wisconsin yesterday, so I feel blessed to have missed the bad weather.
I started cutting the lawn and realized it has barely grown since last week, so finished just the front.
Our bull Atlas who is now six years old came home yesterday. We did and even exchange for a bull (DT) we have used the last few years.
In case I didn't update here we do in fact have triplets. Last week we moved them over to our farm and it was a joy to watch the mother care for them as we were loading. She would sniff one, sniff another, sniff a third and relax, for about 10 seconds, then start again. Yesterday I noticed another one of the cows is letting the boy triplet nurse off of her. Usually twins or calves that aren't fed well end up with a lot of manure on their heads as they steal milk where they can. A few of our "grandma" cows don't care who milk off of them, so everyone ends up with a full tummy.
Last night N, S and I went over to High Pines Farm to work with Gunner. The radar showed the threat of storms had passed. The weather was obviously upsetting Gunner. He was more scared than I had seen him in a long time. He bucked in the round pen and generally just stood and shook while N was longing him. She finally called me out to help, as I was in the barn and was clueless. I was able to settle him down enough for her to get on him and walk a bit. We also did some bending and flexing just to help calm him and remind him that everything was okay when we were with him. As frightened as he was I felt we continued to move forward for he didn't bolt. He stood in one place and shook a lot, but I was able to calm him with my voice and by stroking his neck. So, I guess it was good!
Picture today is of N's friend A. This is her coming around the second barrel on her horse Sasha. Sasha is part Arabian which always makes for some cool tail action shots.

Glad to see you made it through the nasty storms we had throughout WI. We too were lucky and only got some wind not even any rain here.
Glad you survived the storms!
Triplet calves, I had no clue they had triplets, but knew twins sometimes!
Sounds like you did good with the gelding? It can be hard to get their minds off of fear.
Yeah, When that storm blew through here, my girls were a wreck. But all survived.
Last night we had an awful electrical thunderstorm. The lightening just wouldn't stop. For hours this went on, my husband is in Richmond for a conference. I was huddled with the Labs and cats in the house. The girl dog gets nervous. But before the rain came I was mad at the horses because they wouldn't go up into the barn. They were just grazing happily in the field. I just knew they'd be struck by lightening! They are awfully big targets!
I am so happy that the triplets are doing well. You must do some recent pictures of them! That is so rare.
