Embarrassing

For those of my blog readers who have children, you know more than likely know what it's like to be embarrassed by them. For those of you with dogs who go out in public, it's my guess as well that you have been embarrassed by them.

How about your horses? Ever been embarrassed by them?

Saturday we ventured off to another horse show and Dixie did her best to embarrass us. She was tied to the trailer along side our friends mare Sasha. They were on the same side together as they were both in a very obvious heat. Catfish, being the lone gelding stood on the other side.

Half way through the show a trailer pulled in with a gorgeous palomino quarter horse stud. I had actually considered breeding Classy to him, but needed an Appaloosa instead. After watching the show for awhile we walked back to the trailer that was taking entries. They had a full view of our trailer and our "hussies." Both mares were standing quite squarely, tails flipped over, winking away. OMG did we laugh! The man with the stallion was entering some classes holding his stallion.

It was actually quite funny to observe. Anytime he would come within a hundred yards of the mares their heads would go up and their tales over! If he walked away, they fell back asleep.

I tell ya, ya just can't take Dixie out in public sometimes!

We had a little fat Shetland pony named "Topper" that seemed to be in heat every time we went to the fair. Her tail would go up any time a "boy" went by and my blushing brother would calmly reach back and push it back down.
