Classy is doing well in her new dry lot. She and Gunner were having a bucking contest this morning and she by far won. She's a full hand taller and much longer than he is, and therefore her antics were much more explosive. "Bravo dear Classy - nice buck" I thought! No thrush in that horse!! lol...
Keo on the other hand is still a bit sluggish, so a call to the vet is in order. (sigh)
Our week looks SO busy, we might not get to ride until Friay afternoon! I will be working with Gunner everyday this week to get his ground manners in order. We do lots of lounging and whip work. I am trying to desensitize him to the whip being tossed at him, to over come his natural flee instinct. Hopefully this will translate well to when I get enough gumption to get on him and ride! He is now scheduled to go to the trainer sometime in May for 30 days of "what can he do?" training. I am crossing my fingers that he is fully recovered from his bout of EPM.
In art news my girls spent the weekend learning how to relief carve. My mother carves obsessively. The girls watch her, and have expressed intrest. So this weekend they both learned to carve and completed a project each. Pictures to come soon!
