Visitors

Classy and Emmett feeling the love

On occasion we get visitors to the farm who like to see the horses or the cows or the ducks or the chickens. I am happy to oblige. Usually it is relatives of my in-laws from Chicago or California.

I recently got a few photos via email from a visitor from Colorado. The shot above is right before we took Emmett in to be evaluated at the UW Vet School. Today he is pretty nicked up here and there as he has continued to wear off his baby fuzz.

smile for the camera

This one is of S and Dixie doing her "smile."

Classy and Emmett are slowly going through the weaning process. I am up to 5 hours at a shot twice a day. Tomorrow night I will seperate them over night. She's pretty uncomfortable, but it is definately time to seperate them. He is eating her out of house and home. Uncle Gunner has been doing his best to keep him company while she is away. I keep them seperated in adjoining pens and then for about an hour or so I let her roam the pasture. She usually doesn't get too far. During that time Gunner nibbles at what was left of her hay in her pen. His presence seems to help Emmett.

nom nom nom you has a taste nom nom nom

Emmetts nipping has improved immensly. I can go in clean his stall without too much interuption now. He is respecting my space a lot more, so that alone has been wonderful. I will try and get some current pictures of his hooves before next Thursday when I take him in to be reevaluated again. I can now really see a difference. (yea!)

Poor Lloyd just doesn't know what to do with all the attention...

I suppose, if you must...

You really do have some beautiful photos here of your animals and the text is just about perfect -- not to long and not too short. I like your blog.

I am glad to hear his feet are doing better too. And you were so good to get that nibbling nixed early, or at least almost nixed. He is such a sweet baby. And I just love Lloyd. He really is a handsome donkey!
