Off she goes!

My youngest S, left this morning for a week long trip with her sixth grade class. I didn't think I would be teary eyed, but in fact I was.

Before she left home she gave me a note of instructions for the week. I wanted to share them with you because I found them so precious.

To help I will put in parenthesis who each character is in the instructions.

Dear Mom,
I keep the fishlight on during the day. The algae eater needs algae. With Dixie (her horse) be gentle on her and work on bending and backing. I play games where I let her roam while I ride. You should also try walking figure eights and see how little you can use your hands. She likes to go in circles so let her. Trot for exercise in circles 20 times each way. Let her walk 4 n between 2 each way. If she is breathing hard slow her to walk 8 (4 on each side). If nothing else lounge her if you can or have N get on her. When catching her whistle very low once. I am trying to get her to respond to that. Then once caught giver her a treat. Pick her feet each day and try, gently mind you, to see if the shoe is on good. I like to brush or pet Lloyd (donkey) each day. Approach him very slowly and pet him. I want Lloyd not to fear people. Shuck corn off each and every day and give it to Zoe and Chloe (female setting ducks) Two cobs each will do. Mickey (dog) still needs tick meds and you should check him each day. If Gunner (N's horse) works hard and N gives him no treat, stay after she puts him away and give him one. You said you were going to move the horses and Lloyd remember? You will need to feed Mickey and the cats now. Every day I check on the worms. I think you should put them back. I will catch them again. They will die otherwise. Make sure you see and feed Bart (barn cat) every day. Stay cool. I love you. S. P.S. Mickey, Osa (cat) Timmy (cat) may need some meds for ticks, worms and health pellets. Same for Emmett (foal).

She came home from school the other day all mad because one of the 5th grade boys called her a little mother. I have to agree with him.

Now that is funny. I know beyond a doubt I could not do a good enough job for her.

Good luck with your chores mom! (she is a hard workin' little thing isn't she?)
