That's what my girls mom did to me today. I was fast asleep in this deep straw pile my girl's dad put in our shed. He says it's for the cows, but they don't need it all. On the other side of the humungo straw bale is a baby calf.

Back to my dreamin...I was dreaming of my girl riding me. It seems like forever since she's been out to see me. Look at my mane. Does that look like the mane of a horse who is well attended to? My girl's mom says it's cause I have fine hair, but I could still use some lovin from my girl.
My girl's mom says she's been busy with something called Solo and Ensembles. Sounds like what they were doing to Dixie last fall. At one point my girl's sister and TWO of her friends were on her back riding around. you wouldn't catch me doing that. I'd give THEM a ride they soon wouldn't forget.
I really like my girl's sister. She comes out when no one is paying attention and gives us exra treats, but don't tell my girl's mom. SHE thinks it make me too mouthy. Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah...
My girl's mom said my girl did real good at this weekend's Solo and Ensembles. She said she is taking seven out of eight music pieces to state. Including her flute solo and piano solo. Then her and Sasha's girl are going together for a piano duet. Whatever that is. I think it might be something to put hay in.
My girl's mom took some videos and some pictures of the weekend. She said once she gets the video figured out she'll post that too. Don't hold your breath. My girl's mom and dad are real proud of her. I'm sure they are more proud of her when she rides me, but ya know, whatever...
Rumor has it that we are heading over to Tammy's in two weeks. That'll be cool. All this laying around gets old after awhile. Plus some of my old buddies are still there like Griffin. He's one happen' dude. Can't wait to see him and catch up over the fence. I heard he's even been hanging out with some other horse friends. Which is totally cool, cause Griffin is so stand-offish if you don't know him. But, I'm hip to his jive and would hang with him any ole time.
I did get to play with the new calf earlier. He didn't like it when I licked him. I tried a bite too, but he made a weird noise. His mom didn't like it much when we were jumping up and down together. But he started it! Some cow's are so touchy.
My girl's mom says I'm on probation and might have to go live on Dixie, Catfish and Classy's side of the fence. Which really would bite cause Dixie is such a witch, and Classy is all "look at me I'm pregnant." Did you see that picture of her in the last post? Man, I've never been that big! And I know how to pack on weight too! The six weeks comment was pertain to how long before she foals. I wish it were tomorrow. I could use someone to have fun with.
Thanks for stopping by. My girl's mom says maybe she'll post more later.
Love ya bye bye,
Gunner.

Love it when Gunner sneaks into the house and chats with us. I would pay money to see him typing this:-)
I'd like to see those hoofs typing away too. There is nothing worse than being awakened from a great nap so it was lucky Gunner was such a good sport about it!
Aahhh, I thought that was Gunner....He's so handsome!
It tickled me that Gunner sought out the straw pile and snuggled right up to it. lol
Seeing him typing his post would be something. Geez, I was trying to type my post the other day with gloves on (I couldn't get warm after the barn) and I had trouble hitting the right keys. DUH! I can only imagine what poor Gunner must go through with those hooves...
Congrats to the girls, taking that many pieces to state is a feat in itself.
Kathy I couldn't find your email but I have a big question. I will ask the vet today when he comes back too but I thought you might have been through this. The horses did a tack room break in and Spirit and Ruby coliced and were treated yesterday but how long do we need to watch for laminitis or foundering. Would it occur in a few hours or 72 hours or even a week from now. We have been checking them around the clock for signs and standing them in cold water but I just didn't know what the emergency time frame was. If you get this, thanks for your help! Deana
Kathy,
Tell Gunner that Griffin is looking foward to hanging out over the fence too!!
Just like his mom, he can be sometimes be hard to get close to -- but Gunner tops the list as one of his favorite buds. He informed me just the other day that he'd gladly throw some hay over the fence to share with his pal.
Smiles!!
Carol & Griffin
