For many many years we have bought horses in the fall. This is the first time in over four years that I am not actively looking for a horse. Instead, The Man wants a Donkey. So after looking for a couple of months (who knew they were so hard to find?) N and I are going to look at donkey name Lloyd on Saturday.
Isn't he cute? In a donkey sort of way??

My dad has a donkey out at my sister's house with her horses and a donkey on one of his cow farms but it is mean to his calves so he had to split it off. The one at my sister's is a hoot and he just tries to talk to you all the time. My 2 year old nephew does his ears and an "eyah" noise ever time he sees a donkey now.
I love donkeys!! I wish I could have one. But if I can't have one, I'm glad you can and am looking forward to lots of photos and posts about him...but maybe a name change?
I think Lloyd is adorable! What a face! :)
Katie I'm afraid his name will likely stay. Lloyd is what my Grandmother called my Grandfather. His real name was Loyal, but I can still here her her calling him Lloyd.
Love him---I hope he comes home with you guys. Keep us posted!
yep, he is cute! what was his personality like?
Hi Kathy
Thanks so much for your diligent visits to my blog even though I have neglected you so badly. I have caught up on the last couple of posts and enjoyed your descriptions of all the happenings. The little Donkey looks way cute, hope he works out for you all. I am so jealous, wish I could get to trail ride a bit too. Hopefully I will be able to read back further because I enjoy the way you write especially about the cattle.

I would love to have a donkey but they're not allowed in our neighborhood because they are noisy. I can hear a Jack from a couple of miles away.... I do like the sound. Why do donkeys make us laugh? Or is it just me?
What is The Man going to do with a donkey?
Can't wait to learn more about Lloyd.
Good luck!
Did you go see and pick up Lloyd?
As kids we had one named Brighty, and we loved to walk around the corner of the barn and listen to her bray. Last night we were at a friend's place and her donkey was hollering that it was dinner time. Sounded like a fog horn, lol! Donkey's are great... I think everyone should have one.
