Some thoughts I've had as of late. Perhaps something we can all learn from...
- Carefully check the lawn before the first cutting of the season. That mound of dirt might actually be a carcass. Do not be fooled by the dead squirrel that Mick has left next to the tree, it is only a decoy for other squirrels he has left laying around, slowly decomposing.
- Don't let your cat in the house if it is carrying something in it's mouth. Despite the fact that you are proud of his accomplishments, and he is trying to hide the catch from the dog, I repeat: don't let the cat in the house if he is carrying something in his mouth! That thing might be a baby rabbit, and it might be ALIVE! Wheee!!!! (said baby was rescued and returned to the general vicinity I saw Timmy coming from.)
- Always check the gate after the 11 yr old has been given horse feeding duties. Often she will forget to latch it. Just as often three hours later the horses will notice and run down the road in both joy and confusion.
- If you want to ride your daughters horse, just do it, don't ask. You might find out your 11 yr old has little faith in your riding abilities. She might even think you can't "handle" her horse!

Too funny! But totally true.
At least the rabbit wasn't a possum. Every since I got Lulu a dog door I live in a little bit of fear that I"m going to come home to find a possum tearing up my house.
