Blah

I got hit yesterday with a huge head cold. It's hard to stay upright for very long.

I have continued my work with Gunner this week besides feeling so yucky. Yesterday we lounged with a saddle on and I trimmed his bridle path. Part of my rehabilitation is just handling him everyday.

So, today, despite feeling worse than yesterday, I worked having him step over PVC pipe. Then I raised one end of it and had him step over and then raised both ends. The results? I found that he definitely has awareness of placement of his right rear leg. Excellent news! Perhaps his tripping is more related to weakness in that leg.

We will continue to build his leg muscles by working on the hill at a trot. When he lopes he starts to trip and I can tell he is compensating for weakness in that leg.

Kathy will that leg ever be as strong as the others or will he always show some weakness in that leg?....it sounds like your work is going really well but I am so sorry to hear about your head cold. I do hate those things. (I especially hate the feeling I can't hear!)
