Back to the Races

Yesterday saw us back at the races after a good month away from competition.

My girls compete in an open show circuit. This is the arena that is closest to our house, taking only 20 minutes to get there. The sand is pretty deep, but it's our favorite place to go.

Classes throughout the day are broken down by age. S competes in the 10 and under division called Tiny Tots. N competes in the next level up Junior Junior, which is 11 to 13 year olds.

At yestedays show S recieved a third in Tiny Tot Barrels on Kelzon. N recieved a 1st in Jr Jr Poles and a second in Jr Jr Barrels on Classy.

We took the new horse, Catfish, as well and learned he needs some work. He might have an issue with the first barrel, but it's early days. Time will tell.

Here's a clip of N and Classy doing their barrel run. She was second by 1/100 of a second.

That arena looks really familiar is that Kellner? I used to run a womans barrel circuit when I was a kid...it was fun. There wasnt much competition in my age group...
