It gets in the way...

Life does that sometimes.

N has been working on semester finals, S has been working on field trips and last minute school presentations. Today N has to march backwards three miles in the local parade as the drum major. Then - we will come home, do yard maintenance and finally, finally, go on a trail ride. Maybe. If it's not time to breed the cows or go to a graduation party.

In addition N has been having aches in pains in her joints, which the doctor now thinks could be lyme disease. If the labs come back with a confirmation, I told her I was going to mix it with applesauce and squirt it in her mouth - just like Keo. Fingers crossed it's not something major - a girl of 13 should not have these types of pains.

Yesterday, despite the pain, she wanted to take a lesson. She was screamin' around the barrels and not knocking many down. (ripped the newly placed shoe off of Classy's front left) She really enjoying herself. Later I asked her, why, if she was in such pain, did she want to ride? She said with everything else going wrong (tests, doctors etc) she needed one good thing for the day.

Horses will do that for you - give you that one good thing for the day.

I'm with N.-- a good ride will really take your mind off whatever is troubling you, even pain. I don't knw anything about Lyme disease, except a vague memory of it maybe having something to do with ticks...I hope its curable...please please please...
