Snug as Two Bugs in a Rug

Most who visit here know I love winter, for the most part anyway. I must re-define my love and tell you that I love it to stay outside. After my PTO meeting last night I checked my emails and noticed it was chilly in the sunroom. The mouse pad seemed cold.

The man came back from his meeting and we snuggled in for a long winters night. The conversation began with him saying "It's cold in here, are you cold?"

“Yes, I noticed that earlier in the sunroom”

And then began the debate over who would actually get out of our warm bed to figure out what was happening with the furnace.

The man got me with the “Your girls are probably freezing upstairs” comment.

I got up and sure enough, it was 64 degrees in the living room where our thermostat was. I noticed the furnace was trying to run though, so hurried back to bed and told him the news. We waited for the furnace to finish its cycle and actually kick out some heat. We waited. And waited. And waited. I had drifted off when he finally pushed back the covers and headed to the basement.

He returned what must have been hours later, I’m not sure because I was sleeping (snicker – really it was probably 10 minutes)…”Something is wrong with the igniter. No one is answering the emergency line at the heating and cooling place.”

Snuggling deeper into the blankets I commented that the girls were actually warmer than us because heat rises… and we drifted off.

Let me tell you this morning was CHILLY! I love the heating guy. He’s here now and the furnace just started spewing warm air. I also love hot tea. And warm sweatshirts. Oh… oh….and that extra thick quilt my mom gave us for our wedding? Love it.
