A One Eyed Horse

The most challenging thing I have found with owning a one eyed horse is getting run into. You'd think that by now I would know to whistle while I was around Sammy. This morning I got rapped in the skull yet again while walking on his blind side. Jack's got a full facial blow, as have I. I think the whole idea at this point needs to be filled under "duh." I've had over a month to adjust to his blindness while feeding him, but still at least once a week I get run into.

Yesterday I turned the four horses into a large pasture. I mean a HUGE pasture. The older two horses went right to eating and ignored the leg room to move. Sammy and Gunnar on the other hand ran, ran, ran, kicked, ran and ran. They were SO happy to do it. Sammy held his tail up in the air like an Arabian and pranced, jumped and nickered. Ah, to be so happy!!
